If its bad, it will show!

Published Thursday, August 07, 2008 by jameeliqbal in Islam

If Islam is truly a bad and hateful religion, then the miscreants would not have to go all over the net and tell everybody how bad and how hateful Islam is.

Checkout the story of a revert where she beautifully explains how she embaraced Islam:

++++++

"Things are made clear through their opposites"........proverb

"Nothing makes Truth stand out more clearly than Falsehood!" I embraced Islam 6 months after I arrived in the US, thanks to my encounter with Christianity!

I was born in India and grew up among people who worshipped many gods and goddesses- the Hindus. At every street and corner in India, you will find temples housing idols of wood, stone, ivory, even gold and silver.

I do not come from a Hindu family. My parents do not believe in God. They are atheists. They taught me there was no such thing as God. As a child, I believed whatever my parents told me. I looked up to them and believed they knew everything. I thought they were perfect. As I grew older however, I realized that my parents did not know everything. They were certainly not perfect. And they made mistakes.

Lazy fingers? Time to get a Robot

Published Tuesday, August 05, 2008 by jameeliqbal in Software

They had been around for quite a while.  But I didn't bother to use them, thought they just another junkware.

I am talking about password managers.  What it does is ....well manage passwords. Some even try to manage more.

Like I was saying I hadn't bothered about them much, until a couple of days back I decide to download one.  So I logged on to download.com and searched for the term "password".  It listed out a lot of them.  I filtered the free ones, and sorted the list based on editor ratings.  I found one by the name Roboform with good ratings.

Its been only a few days since I downloaded it, but I already have become a slave to it.  Now I open all the sites that require authentication (form based or windows) just by clicking its "Fill and Submit" button.

It has been handy while developing my web applications, especially that use windows authentication, making it easier to login whenever I am testing the applicaitions.

You can check out the application here:

Toolbars anyone?

I hate toolbars on my browser. Period.  Some think it is a necessary evil.  Yeah may be with the earlier versions of the browser. Not any more.

What, with all the new browsers coming with a built in search bar, descretly located in one corner and not taking much real-estate on the browser, un-like the uggggghhh toolbars.  Plus, the browser also come built in with pop-up blockers, anti-phishing tools etc.

So it beats me why would anybody want to have a toolbar?  Can anyone tell?
